Picture of windows at Revo café in Atwater Village looking outwards

This place really makes my day. I'm a big believer in breakfast being the most important meal of the day. Growing up, Mom would leave for work before Dad, or else, she was asleep still when my sisters and I got ourselves ready for school. Moms whereabouts is a fog. Dad made us eat soft boiled eggs, which my little sister gagged about each time she had to eat them. I guess because I didn't offer to store her portion of runny yokes in my belly, she thought it'd be ok to gross me out about soft boiled eggs too. She'd say "ooh, look. I can see the heart membrane, head, umbilical chord, etc." I was getting use to gulping them eggs up with one bite of toast and jam. Now I just have coffee. Lately I've been drinking tea, mindful that I can make myself an espresso at work if I start nodding off. Sometimes our work schedule is so hectic that we need to have our lunch before the normal 12 o'clock lunch hour. When that happens I go to the new place where I order a brunch. The other day I ordered a conquistadora crepe, unaware that it would contain tuna melt wrapped inside. I don't mind having an early lunch when I can go to Revo cafe. They serve breakfast all day long.

I'm just discovering that part of Atwater Village and I'm loving what I see. What a perfect little walkable community, almost a hidden oasis there below Glendale.
