Aw, look at the dear chillins plummeting their instructor

What's the education system coming to? Liveleak has a link to a video stream of public school students beating up on their teacher. The dirtiest thing I ever did to my art teacher was to swipe a calligraphy pen handle, and I'm still feeling guilty for it. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=63b_1207833946&p=1

I don't think this kind of violence would've happened back when I was in school. I mean, I could be wrong. I can see a how a frustrated student might flatten out a teacher like in the movie Disturbia, but a woman? And, lets forget for a moment the student/teacher scuffle and consider the cat fight in Florida which will try the suspects as adults. Isn't it plain to see that this senseless violence is all done for the sake of vlogging? How close are we from televising reality shows exploiting caught on tape fatalities? It's just around the corner. When laws are passed as a result of major corporate concerns on infringements, what else can pirate software developers do to pass the time?

I was laughed at for listening to Journey when I was in High School. Um, I think it was Open arms I was listening to back then. I'm sorry, I just couldn't handle HEAVY METAL at that age.

I saw that video of the teacher and I was appalled. I'm all for questioning authority but I draw the line at beating the crap out of authority. (And other kids where cheering her on.) But what really got me was that apparently the principal, while initially sympathetic, said she said something to "trigger" the student. I was pretty shocked by that.

According to the victim's statement, the principle of the school apologized to her about the beatings, then turned around and added that the remark "I was going to defend myself" was what triggered the violence. If a student, however, says "I am going to defend myself", that's ok. Good luck to a school that tries to prohibit their faculty from using that epithet.

I dunno about you, but this kind of pretentious observation makes me want to puke. Just go home, open up a bottle of grey goose and drink until I puke my guts out. Indeed. That the system contains a lot of good, against what little corruption that has been uncovered over the years, doesn't make for a progressive system. I like to compare it to math: a negative multiplied by a positive is always a negative. I agree with you, but god how I despise teachers.

I homeschooled my daughter until the third grade because I just didn't want to subject her to school (not just the teachers but the atmosphere and the way the other kids can be.) She's had some really good teachers and some that should never have been receiving money to teach anyone anything.

At least the high school she just got into looks good. Not sure about the one she'll probably end up going to instead though.
