LAistory: Cross Roads of the World - LAist: Los Angeles News, Food, Arts & Events

A little culter and history. When I think of Cross Roads of the World on Sunset Blvd, I think of a homeless woman squatting down to pee next to a palm tree. It was '95 when I was commuting to and from work in Burbank by bus. I had to take several buses to work. One day, I'm sitting at the bus stop waiting for a bus and I see a fat homeless woman squat to pee right on the sidewalk. She couldn't have done this in a residential neighborhood, no. She had to do it on a major commercial street.

There I sat, waiting for the bus and you know how people tend to look in the direction where a bus may be coming from as if to hail it down. Buses have been known to pass you by here in L.A. It's happened to me more than once. Well, that just so happened to be the direction where the homeless woman was relieving herself. So I decide to just sit on the bench and look straight in front of me, across the street. It is the building of the Cross Roads of the World. I've never been in there. I've always wondered about it. What is it? The attached link will help figure this out. It's an interesting part of L.A. history.
