Droid by Motorola behaving badly

After hearing a short description on the radio about a cell phone model called Droid exploding while in use, I search the Times for more info on the news. Finally got around to searching online after thinking about the fiasco over the Ronni Chasen murder investigation--swear to god, I had heard initially that the suspect was a publicist himself and the suicide had occured in his office--the phone incident happened in Texas according to the link. I was kind of considering a Droid myself just as soon as I left Sprint. Now that I signed myself up for an iPod sleeve with Internet access, that isn't likely to happen. I hope my iPod never explodes in my face!

I've read a couple online reports that say the iPhone4 is twice as likely to shatter - because the back is made of glass (just like the front)... however when I did some digging, only about 7% (I pulled that number out of my bum.. I can't remember the actual low percentage) does shatter, and it's twice the ratio of the iPhone3 (because of both sides being glass).

It's really early in the morning during my night shift and I'm rambly, does that makes sense?

I heart my iPhone4.

A friend at work just got an iPhone. The phone signal is really crappy in her neighborhood, so I suggested downloading one of the free calling VOIP software services like fring and skype. A lot of the software services for calling while connected to a WIFI signal require paid subscriptions. That defeats the purpose, but in my co-workers case, it would be an improvement over the all the dropped calls she encounters. I suggested call2, but I seriously doubt she will like it.

I just received my iPod Peel and love the mobileness of having Internet on the go. Other smart phones may be good, probably even better than the iPhone, but nothing beats listening to tunes with an iPod/iPhone; so I'm planning on trying out the freebee software "fring" on my iPod so that I can assist in uploading my friend's iPhone with it.
