Abandonment
slavezombie

One of the things my mom use to tell me growing up was that if I didn't behave, she would sell me the somebody at the supermarket. Although I grew up going shopping at Fedco, I never felt abandoned whenever I would wander off on my own and later have the hardest time locating Mom. Did you know that Japan has little drop boxes for mothers with unwanted newborns to safely leave their infant with no questions asked? Here's the link.

I figured there might be similar places in the US too. They just aren't making the news the way they are in Japan, where concern over copycat occurrences has become an issue. Reading the story made me think of my childhood. How can a parent leave their preschool age child? I was able to speak at that age. On the liter side, nothing beats free publicity to increase funding through public speculation.

Oh yeah that's true.

I can't believe your mom would say that to you. I would be really devastated.
